Clinical Mental Health Therapist, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner & Clinical Hypnotherapist
Jay Jamie is a Clinical Mental Health Therapist, Attachment & Trauma Psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Clinical Hypnotherapist. Her own path through trauma work, meditation and psychotherapy reshaped her life. Through her own journey of healing, she came home to herself — and that lived experience is what she now brings to the people she works with. Today she helps clients move through attachment wounds, maladaptive behaviours, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, and the long-held patterns that keep them stuck.
She specialises in trauma, attachment and anxiety — from PTSD, CPTSD to the deeper, often invisible wounds shaped by difficult relationships, early life, and cultural, societal and intergenerational patterns. Many of her clients arrive, often unknowingly, carrying insecure attachment patterns and a nervous system that has been holding on for a very long time. This often appears as anxiety, burnout, eating disorders, obsessive or compulsive patterns, fears and phobias, addictions, the inner critic, or a sense of being lost or “not enough” — and sometimes in the body, as chronic pain, gut issues, a weakened immune
system, or poor sleep.
Jay Jamie helps people trace these patterns back to their roots, so that what once felt confusing or out of control can be understood with compassion, and change becomes possible. The foundation of her practice is attachment-based psychotherapy, integrated with her formal training in Somatic Experiencing®, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 2, Hakomi Professional Training, Integrative Focusing-oriented therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT®). Trusting that we each hold an innate capacity to heal when we feel safe enough, she works mindfully with the nervous system — building that safety first, regulation before processing, always at the client’s pace — before moving gently through the trauma toward reconnecting with all parts of oneself and, as Jung put it, becoming who you truly are.
Her grounding is both academic and deeply experiential. An approved Somatic Experiencing®, Hakomi and Clinical Hypnotherapy training assistant, she is completing an MSc in Body (Somatic) Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of East London, holds a CPCAB Level 5 in Attachment-Based Psychotherapy and an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Trauma Hypnotic Sciences. Her training reaches beyond somatic and attachment approaches — she is also a trauma-informed Breath-Body-Mind™ Breath Work Instructor and Meditation Teacher. She is an Accredited Member of the Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists (ACCPH), an Associate Member of the Psychotherapy Society of Hong Kong, and a Certified Member of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT).
For Jay Jamie, this work is as much personal as professional — a path she continues to walk herself, and with every client she sits with.
