Accessible Therapy Programme in Singapore

Accessible Therapy Programme & Practicum Placements in Singapore

At Sol Therapy, accessibility and clinical integrity are held together with equal care. Our Accessible Therapy Programme offers supported-fee psychotherapy and counselling with postgraduate clinicians who are completing their formal practicum training. This pathway allows individuals to receive thoughtful, supervised psychological care while contributing to the development of emerging therapists in Singapore.

Accessible Therapy sessions are conducted by practicum clinicians who are:

  • In the final phase of accredited postgraduate training
  • Completing their formal practicum requirements
  • Carrying supervised caseloads under structured clinical supervision and oversight

All cases are held within structured supervision and mentorship. Your therapist is not navigating your care alone — they are accompanied, guided, and supported throughout.

Choosing this pathway does not mean lesser therapy. It means your sessions are delivered within a carefully supervised clinical framework.

Fees range from $55 to $65 per session (up to 90 minutes), depending on the clinician’s stage of training. Sessions are conducted in person at our clinic.

What This Means for Clients

If you choose this pathway:

  • Your therapist is completing a formal postgraduate clinical placement as part of their professional training.
  • Your sessions are discussed (confidentially) within supervision
  • Senior clinical oversight is built into your care
  • You are contributing to the growth of future ethical therapists

Every enquiry is reviewed thoughtfully to ensure the Accessible Therapy Programme is clinically appropriate and responsibly supported. We take care in understanding your needs before confirming whether this pathway is the right fit and in matching you accordingly.

If, at any point, it becomes clear that a different level of care would better support you, our Client Care Triage Team will discuss this openly and guide the transition with care and transparency.

Practicum Placements at Sol Therapy

Sol Therapy currently processes practicum placements in partnership with The School of Positive Psychology (TSPP).

We accept postgraduate students who have:

  • Completed, or are in the final phase of, their academic modules
  • Entered their formal practicum stage
  • Demonstrated readiness to carry supervised client work

Our placement model is intentionally designed for students transitioning from academic training into supervised clinical practice, where sustained supervision and readiness for client work can be meaningfully supported. As such, we are not able to accommodate short-term academic internships or attachments, or students who have not yet entered their formal practicum phase.

Kindly submit your application via email to opportunities@soltherapy.sg and copy practicum@positivepsych.edu.sg in your correspondence.

Enquiries from Other Institutions

Postgraduate students from accredited institutions such as National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), and James Cook University Singapore (JCU Singapore) who are in their final modules and entering their formal practicum phase may write in to express interest in supervised clinical placement opportunities at Sol Therapy.

Interested candidates may email to opportunities@soltherapy.sg

Please include:

  • Full name

Our Treatments

Psychotherapy supports individuals in understanding anger not as something to suppress, but as a signal to be explored. Therapy helps identify underlying triggers, unmet needs, and recurring response patterns, fostering emotional regulation, clearer communication, and healthier expression.

Counselling helps individuals understand and manage excessive worry, overthinking, and anticipatory fear. Through collaborative exploration, therapy strengthens emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and confidence in navigating uncertainty.

Therapy provides structured space to examine the pressures, expectations, and internal narratives contributing to sustained stress. Through insight-building and coping strategies, individuals learn to respond to stress with greater steadiness and perspective.

Psychotherapy supports individuals experiencing low mood, loss of motivation, emotional heaviness, or withdrawal. Therapy explores contributing factors, relational patterns, and life stressors while gradually rebuilding resilience, meaning, and vitality.

Therapy offers a steady space to process loss — whether due to bereavement, relationship endings, health changes, or other life shifts. Counselling supports individuals in making sense of grief at their own pace, without pressure to “move on,” while gently integrating loss into ongoing life.

Counselling helps individuals explore the psychological and emotional factors contributing to sleep difficulties. By addressing stress, rumination, anxiety, and unresolved concerns, therapy supports improved sleep patterns and greater mental restfulness.

Psychotherapy supports individuals navigating significant life changes — including career shifts, relationship transitions, parenthood, relocation, or identity changes. Therapy offers space to process uncertainty and adjustment while strengthening clarity and forward movement.

Psychotherapy supports individuals experiencing panic episodes by helping them understand triggers, bodily responses, and fear cycles. Therapy builds tools for grounding, reframing catastrophic thinking, and reducing the intensity and frequency of panic symptoms.

Therapy can be a space to deepen understanding of your patterns, values, and inner world. Through reflective dialogue, individuals explore identity, attachment history, emotional tendencies, and personal meaning, developing greater self-awareness and self-agency.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Accessible Therapy Programme offers low-bono psychotherapy and counselling sessions with postgraduate clinicians in their formal practicum phase, working under ongoing senior clinical supervision.

No. Sessions are delivered within a structured and supervised framework. Your therapist is supported through formal clinical supervision, ensuring guidance and oversight throughout your care.

Therapists in this pathway are postgraduate students in the final phase of accredited counselling or psychology programmes. They are completing formal clinical placements and are supervised by their clinical supervisors, training institutes, and registered clinicians at Sol Therapy.

Yes. Sessions remain confidential and professionally governed, in adherence to established codes of ethics and professional standards. As part of clinical supervision, your case may be discussed confidentially with clinical supervisors and appointed mentors who are registered clinicians, solely for the purpose of supporting safe, responsible, and quality care.

Each enquiry is reviewed thoughtfully to ensure this pathway is clinically appropriate and responsibly supported. We consider presenting concerns, readiness, and level of care required before confirming placement.

If it becomes clear that you would benefit from a different level of support, we will discuss this openly and guide you toward a more suitable therapist within the clinic.

Accessible Therapy sessions are currently conducted in person at our clinic.

Yes. If you wish to transition to a registered clinician, we will discuss this and support a smooth handover. Registered clinician fees differ and will be shared transparently prior to any change.

You do not need a diagnosis or a major crisis to begin therapy. Many people seek support for ongoing stress, relationship challenges, emotional patterns, or simply a desire to better understand themselves. If something feels difficult, persistent, or confusing, therapy can offer a space to explore it.

The first session is typically an exploratory conversation. We take time to understand what has brought you in, your background, and what you hope to work toward. There is no pressure to share everything at once. Therapy unfolds at a pace that feels manageable.

The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, circumstances, and preferences. Some individuals attend for short-term support around a specific issue, while others choose longer-term work for deeper exploration and sustained growth.

Both involve structured therapeutic conversations. Counselling often focuses on present-day concerns and practical coping, while psychotherapy may involve deeper exploration of long-standing patterns, relational dynamics, and emotional history. The approach is tailored to your needs.

It is common to struggle with putting experiences into words. Therapy does not require you to articulate everything clearly from the start. Part of the work involves slowing down, reflecting together, and gradually making sense of what feels unclear.

At times, therapy may bring up difficult emotions. This does not mean something is wrong. Therapy is paced intentionally, and discomfort is approached with care, not pressure. You are always able to pause, slow down, or reflect on what feels manageable.

Yes. Therapy is not only for crisis. It can support self-understanding, communication skills, emotional regulation, decision-making, and personal growth, even when concerns feel subtle or ongoing rather than acute.

Therapy is not primarily advice-giving. Instead, it is a collaborative process that helps you clarify your own values, patterns, and options. Your therapist may offer perspective, reflection, or tools, but decisions remain yours.
