Clinical Mental Health Therapist & Hypnotherapist

Sol Therapy - Germaine Lim
Germaine is a trained and certified Clinical Mental Health Therapist and Hypnotherapist who works primarily with youths and young adults navigating emotional distress, identity exploration, and significant life transitions. She holds a Master’s in Guidance and Counselling from James Cook University (Singapore) and practises across both counselling and psychotherapy frameworks. She is certified in CBT and SFBT, with further training in Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and Hypnotherapy. Her clinical background also includes Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Assessment & Response (CARG), interventions for Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI), Psychological First Aid, suicide prevention, and the Child Protection Framework.

Her path into counselling and psychotherapy began within the healthcare setting. As a former student nurse, Germaine was first introduced to mental health work during her posting at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). This early exposure, alongside her own lived experiences of mental health challenges in her youth, shaped a deep commitment to walking alongside young people with empathy, sensitivity, and care.

Germaine has worked as a youth worker and as an SAC-registered Provisional Counsellor across various NGOs and freelance platforms. In addition to individual counselling and psychotherapy work, she has facilitated mental health workshops for youths and migrant workers in Singapore, reflecting her belief in advocacy, accessibility, and meeting people where they are.

She practises from an integrative and holistic approach, grounded in the understanding that meaningful change unfolds when both thoughts and emotions are gently attended to. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, Germaine works with the whole person—supporting clients to develop insight, emotional clarity, and practical coping strategies that honour their unique experiences and needs.

Known for her warm, attuned, and collaborative presence, Germaine offers a therapeutic space where clients can feel heard and supported, and gradually move forward with greater self-compassion, resilience, and steadiness.
